About Us

Rising out of the chaparral-covered Gabilan Mountains, in southern San
Benito County, are the spectacular remains of an ancient volcano. Massive
monoliths, spires, sheer-walled canyons and talus passages define millions
of years of erosion, faulting and tectonic plate movement.

A unit of the National Park Service, Pinnacles National Monument preserves
over 26,000 acres of diverse wildlands and is open to the public year-round
for hiking, picnicking, climbing, and other recreational and educational
pursuits.
